Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
  • Empowerment Zone/ Enterprise Community program is eligible to businesses of all sizes. It encourages
    businesses to open, expand, and hire local residents. The incentives include employment credits, a 0% tax
    on capital gains, accelerated depreciation through Commercial Revitalization Deductions, and other
    incentives.

Department of Commerce (DOC)
  • Economic Development Association is committed to leading the federal economic development agenda by
    promoting innovation, competitiveness, and regionalism. The EDA has several different investment programs
    including: Public Works and Economic Development, Economic Adjustment Assistance, Research and National
    Technical Assistance, Local Technical Assistance, Planning Program, University Center Economic
    Development and Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms.

Department of the Interior
  • National Park Service focuses on the preservation of national parks but they also help communities across
    America preserve and enhance important local heritage and close to home recreational opportunities.
    Grants and assistance are offered to register, record, and save historic places; create community parks and
    local recreational facilities; conserve rivers and streams and develop trails and greenways.

Grants.gov
  • Grants.gov is an online resource that brings organizations seeking grants and agencies awarding grants
    together. This site allows organizations to electronically search and apply for over 1000 grant programs
    worth more than $400 billion.

Global Green
  • Green Builder Resource Center provides information on the most popular environmentally friendly building
    materials, free design advice, and information about green building strategies.

Green Project
  • The Green Project focuses on recycling building components, materials, paints, supplies, furniture and even
    appliances. The goal of the green project is to return basic materials to the community at a low cost, while
    supplying architects, builders, artisans, artists, households and hobbyists with supplies they may need.

Brownfield funding can be partnered with other funding sources and tax incentives
